Medical Education Building
University of Windsor
This medical school designed for 48 students is an addition to the Toldo Health Education Centre designed by Diamond and Schmitt in 2003. The two buildings are connected by an indoor court, which is a forum for student study and interaction.
Linked with the Schulich School of Medicine at the University of Western Ontario, the school’s sophisticated distance-education capability adds new technologies to virtual and real anatomy labs, clinical learning suites, simulation suites and group study rooms. Designed to LEED Gold standard, the building’s south facade controls sun and view while clerestory windows admit daylight deep into the interior.
