The Banff Centre Campus Master Plan
The Banff Centre
The Banff Centre is situated within Banff National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is an interdisciplinary campus and a global leader for creative innovation in aesthetic, social, economic, political, environmental and scientific fields.
In 2004, Diamond and Schmitt Architects were commissioned to develop a master plan for the campus that would provide an integrated system of roadways, walkways, signage and infrastructure. The plan preserves the natural landscape and wildlife habitat while providing a functional campus and accommodating the projected growth of both the program and the recreational facilities.
Phase one, the Sally Borden Building, was completed in July, 2007 and phase two, the Kinnear Centre for Creativity and Innovation, was completed in July, 2010.
