Biography

Antra has over twenty-five years of experience in design, development and construction of large commercial and mixed-use projects for both private and public sector clients. She has worked in Canada, the U.S. and England and has considerable experience in the design of performing arts projects, institutional work, assisted housing, and residential properties.

Major projects include the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s Performing Arts Centre, the Harman Centre for the Arts, Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C., and the renovation and expansion of the Grand Theatre in Kingston, Ontario. Antra was Project Architect on Corus Quay (2011), the LEED Gold-designed $120-million office and broadcasting centre on Toronto’s new East Bayfront Precinct. She also worked on the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute (2011) at St. Michael’s Hospital.

Currently Antra is Project Architect on the $230-million Public/Private Partnership for Bridgepoint Health, which includes a new 472-bed long-term care and rehabilitation facility as well as renovation of the historic Don Jail. Antra is managing DSAI’s role within the large and complex group of owners, architects, consultants and contractors working towards construction completion in the spring of 2013.

Antra is LEED-accredited, has served on the Toronto Society of Architects board and is currently a member of the local Latvian Architect’s Association. She believes strongly in the positive outcome of mentorship and enjoys giving presentations to public school children about the history and current practice of architecture.
